One of the PINTSCH ABEN switchpoint heating components is a weather station, especially developed for the railway market.
In its most advanced development level as an high-duty weather station, METEOSCAN is able to determine the switchon/off moments of switchpoint heating installations using a parameterised algorithm.
All environmental data used by METEOSCAN to determine the switch-on/off moments are registered by various sensors which are housed in a stainless steel post.
Another part of this post is a tetrahedral moisture sensor which is electrically heated depending on temperature, and whose aerodynamic characteristics and integrated bulkheads detect falling snow as well as fine and drifting snow.
The compact design and the corrosion-free materials used protect METEOSCAN from vandalism.
